The Contractor's Office is the culmination of over ten years of development and refinement of project management and construction accounting procedures. The software was built initially as a front end to add construction management capabilities to the back office accounting system. With the emergence of the Internet, the system evolved -- enabling every member of the construction team the unprecedented ability to participate, communicate, view and exchange information in real time.

ConstruX LLC was formed by Michael Stieger, CFO of Cannon Constructors, Inc., a medium sized general contractor with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Cannon Constructors, Inc. provided the construction expertise during product development and was the first firm to begin using The Contractor's Office in its day to day operations.
Technique Development, a database and Internet development firm, provides the technical expertise needed to implement The Contractor's Office. Technique Development also maintains the @LA Construction page, a guide to construction related sites in Greater Los Angeles.
